What’s worse than getting knocked out of the Europa League by Dinamo Zagreb after being 2-0 up from the first leg? That’s right, the fact their manager was in prison at the time.

Now, what’s worse than getting beat by a team whose manager was locked up when you bottled your two-goal lead? That’s right, the fact your back-up goalkeeper took to social media, assuming you’d won 3-0, and offered the nonchalant caption ‘job done’ as he celebrated the victory that he had absolutely no part in.

Seriously, it’s almost like Tottenham want to become a circus club at times.

Jose Mourinho’s side headed to Croatia for the second leg of their Europa League last 16 tie with Dinamo Zagrab boasting a comfortable 2-0 lead.

No English side had thrown away a two-goal first-leg lead in a European knockout tie since Manchester City back in 2017, but obviously Spurs can’t be relied upon to see absolutely any game through, and a superb Mislav Orsic hat-trick dumped them out of the competition in extra-time.

Naturally, the Tottenham players and backroom staff were distraught and humiliated by the result, with a number of damning post-match interviews taking place.

But not Joe Hart. Good old optimistic Joe Hart decided to completely ignore the fact his team had just been thrashed and dumped out the Europa League, and instead took to social media to congratulate his side on their 3-0 win.

And to make matters worse, he was actually in the matchday squad so will have watched the full game!

It takes a certain level of clownery to be so calamitous that you even make a fool of yourself when you haven’t even made it onto the pitch.

The former England goalkeeper took to Instagram to explain the mix-up, basically claiming his social media team had made him look like an absolute idiot and there had been a ‘typo’. Yeah, we often find ourselves typing ‘job done’ when what we actually meant to type was ‘oh you’re f***ing messing we’ve gone and thrown it away again’.

Easy mistake to make, the letters are just so close together on the keyboard.

Cartoon: Freedom jab

If you’re one of the 49% (or more) of Republican men who are not planning on getting a COVID-19 vaccine, consider getting “Freedom Jab” instead! Scientists and public health experts say “vaccine,” but you can call it Freedom Jab if that makes you feel better. As we (hopefully) reemerge from this horrible pandemic, multiple polls show Republican men as the most vaccine-hesitant of any group polled. Gee, I wonder if […]
